The project was initiated by the city of Magdeburg, with partnership of the following cities: Aarhus (Denmark), Halle\/Saale (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Piraeus (Greece), Manresa (Spain), Newcastle (Great Britain) and Bia\u0142ystok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the project was to examine the efficiency of various ways of restructuring urban areas so that they may become spaces for scientific activity, as well as to develop general guidelines for all the European cities. Such guidelines would become a database of information necessary for planning and development of similar processes.
