PLACES
Białystok Science and Technology Park, on behalf of the City of Białystok, has joined Białystok University of Technology in realisation of PLACES - Platform of Local Authorities and Communicators Engaged in Science. The project, part of the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme, creates a platform of European cities, centres and museums of science and technology, as well as other organisers of scientific events.
Its aim is to create, collect and develop the best practices regarding scientific communication and to promote them across European cities.
The first event that took place within the PLACES framework was the invitation of the Imaginary - Through the Eyes Of Mathematics travelling exhibition from Oberwolfach Research Institute for Mathematics to Białystok University of Technology.
The official opening of the venue took place at the Centre for Modern Education of Białystok University of Technology on the 31st of May 2012, and featured an Interactive IQ Test, as well as an additional exhibition, titled The Mysteries of Physics, which presented interactive exhibits from the Park Miniatur SA in Łódź.
